Dear Platt,

ENCLOSURE 2.

27376 Rees

Chartered Bank of India, Australia & China.

Hong-Kong, 2nd November, 1897.

With reference to my letter to the Governor dated 14th ultimo, in connection with the deposit of the Treasury balances during the past two years, the matter has evidently been overlooked by His Excellency, as so far I have not received an acknowledgment of the communication.

If convenient I should be very greatly obliged to be favoured with a reply before the departure of the homeward English mail.

C. C. Platt, Esq.,
Government House.

Yours very truly,
(Sgd.) T. H. Whitehead.
